Lynn Barnwell from Hinkle Creek Pottery at the potter's market of MSClayworks conference at the Meridian Community College in Mississippi.

Pottery Market August 25-27
Cadence Conference Center
(The market is open to the public)

Click to register for the pottery market.
To display and sell your work at the pottery market, you have to register for the full conference as well.
This registration for the pottery market includes:
  • $50 entry fee to display and sell your work at the market.
  • A table, tablecloth, two chairs, and trashcan.
  • Electricity is included in the market fee. Bring additional extension cables for the electrical hookup.
  • Free Wifi is available.
Since the conference is under the umbrella of the Create Foundation, they will send a check payment for pottery sales to each individual potter a week or two after the conference.
When you register for the pottery market, you agree to this check arrangement.
The potter's market is a huge opportunity for everyone since it will be open to the public. For only $50 you can show your work, while you watch the presenters and volunteers sell your pots for you. The best of all is that WE DO NOT TAKE ANY OF YOUR PROFIT. So guys, take advantage of this opportunity and make your first early Christmas sales.
The pottery market will be in a separate room at the Cadence Center where the conference is being held and will be open to the public on August 25-26. It will have an outside entrance for the public to view and purchase, so please advertise to your customer base that you have a booth set up.

Setup
  • Unloading and setup for the market is Friday, Aug 25 from 7am - 10am.
Selling to public
  • The public will be allowed in the pottery market from 10am - 5pm on Friday, Aug 25, and from 10am - 5pm on Saturday, Aug 26.
Sales and sales tax
  • There will be one point of sale for the pottery market to allow potters to attend the demonstrations.
  • Since we are affiliated with the Create Foundation, a non-profit organization, all funds will go to the foundation, and they will cut checks to each vendor in the Clay market. This will delay payment for a few days and the foundation will take 2% of sales and the percentage from Square will be deducted also. If you are not comfortable with this arrangement, then we ask that you not apply for a table.
  • Mississippi sales tax and Tupelo city tax will be collected on all sales.
  • Each artist will be assigned a letter designation and numbered labels to put on each item. You are responsible for pricing. All transactions will be run through Square at central checkout. We will have bags and wrapping. There will be volunteers to help monitor the tables and assist customers.
Pack up
  • Saturday, Aug 26 from 5pm - 7pm. If potters want to stay over for Sunday, then they have to be out of the building by 12pm on Sunday.
